About Lingualink

Croeso i Gymru   - Welcome to Wales

Lingualink is a growing language school in North Wales and is accredited by the British Council.  We keep our classes small and personal to help you to learn quickly.

  • John and Pauline Hymus began Lingualink in 1993. It is a family business and you will enjoy the family, but professional, atmosphere.
  • Lingualink has two full-time English teachers and three part-time teachers who are all professionally trained.
  • Lingualink is in the town of Rhyl. The school is near the centre of town,  close to the main railway station and the bus station.
  • We have students from many countries. Students from Brazil, Korea, Germany, Switzerland, Libya and China have studied with us.

About the Directors

John Hymus is a language specialist. He gained his MA in German and Russian at Cambridge University in the '60's and speaks English, French, Russian and German. He has taught English at all levels for over 20 years. He also teaches business English in companies and English at IELTS level.

He loves teaching and coaching in other modern languages too.

 

 

Pauline Hymus is a trained English language teacher. She looks after the students and helps with student problems. She has also taught in government schools. She studied at Liverpool University where she gained her MA degree in psychotherapy. She has had over 30 years of helping people.

She loves cooking and is an excellent cook.

 

John and Pauline have lived in India, Vienna (Austria), Germany and on board educational ships in South East Asia.  They have 3 children and 4 grandchildren.

About the Staff

Our teaching staff are all qualified English teachers and usually have a second degree. Most have had many years experience teaching English in foreign countries.

About Rhyl

  • Our language school is in the town called Rhyl, North Wales.
  • Rhyl is by the sea and has large, wide sandy beaches.  It also has beautiful mountains and lakes - and wonderful fresh sea air with no pollution. You will like our beautiful country!
  • North Wales also has a very old culture and Welsh people love music, poetry and singing.  North Wales is proud of its many historic castles.
  • It even has its own language called 'cymraeg'.  But English is the language which is spoken everywhere. Many famous English-speaking politicians, poets, writers and opera singers have come from Wales. Their English is beautiful.
  • Rhyl has been a tourist centre popular with British families for over 100 years. It has everything you need from cinema and theatre to shops, supermarkets, sports, and swimming pools.
